“Is this what really happened?” For more than ten years, that question echoed in Luna Goiris’ mind. With Ik heb zelf iets meegemaakt, Luna turns her doubt into a starting point for conversation.
In this brave five-part podcast series, she revisits her own experience with sexual violence and speaks with survivors, experts and even a perpetrator, trying to understand what happened to her… and to so many others.

How do you create a safe space for both the maker and the listener, while addressing a topic that is so complex and emotionally heavy?
Luna’s main goal was to foster connection. To create something honest enough for survivors to recognise themselves in, and careful enough to handle the subject with respect. The production process was a handle with care operation.
Together, Luna and producer Sofie developed a format that is based on Luna’s diaries and case files. Their personal bond and unfiltered communication lead the way while creating.
The sound design and music were used with intention, supporting the story without overpowering it. The result is an intimate listening experience that feels almost like walking beside Luna.
Which is exactly what we’ve done during a heartwarming finissage. There was cake, live music from the podcast, and a moving epilogue shared during a beautiful walk. But most of all: there was connection, care and deep respect.
